Jeannie Mai finally speaks out on Jeezy filing for divorce.
In a notable move, Jeannie Mai has broken her silence since her husband, Jeezy, filed for divorce just a month ago. The former co-host of The Real chose Instagram as her platform on Wednesday to release her initial post following the rapper’s official request to terminate their marriage on September 14.
While the post doesn’t overtly allude to the separation, it does provide insight into why Jeannie has refrained from sharing on social media during this period of marital dissolution.
Despite being brief, her handwritten note emphasizes her preference for a private handling of the divorce without specifically addressing the matter to her followers.
According to paperwork that PEOPLE was able to get, Jeezy filed for divorce in Atlanta and claims that their marriage is irreversibly broken and there is no chance of them getting back together.
In March 2021, the couple exchanged vows, and in January 2022, their daughter, Monaco, was born.

According to sources close to the couple, Jeezy and Jeannie are still living together in their Georgia home even though their divorce is still pending. However, contacts are said to be modest, with little more than a chance encounter and little further discussion.
