Jamie Foxx Praises God for ‘Second Chance to Enjoy and Appreciate Life’
After learning that he had been nominated for three NAACP Image Awards on Thursday, Jamie Foxx, the 56-year-old Oscar winner whose daughter Corrine recently got engaged, posted an emotional message on Instagram on Saturday.
‘Super thankful to the @naacpimageawards for these nominations The Burial … They Cloned Tyrone… Story Avenue… I cannot tell you how great it feels to be recognized by our own,’ he wrote
‘And on a personal note I am humbled and thankful to God that I get a chance a second chance to enjoy and appreciate life…,’ Jamie added.
The heartfelt message was shared by Jamie Foxx a week after he returned to filming his upcoming movie “Back In Action” in Atlanta alongside his costar Cameron Diaz, following a medical scare on April 11. Though the specifics of his hospitalization have been kept private, he talked about the experience on Instagram during his birthday in December.
Jamie Foxx expressed gratitude for the prayers and support during his recent health scare, emphasizing their importance in helping him recover emotionally. He made his first public appearance since the incident at the Critics Choice Association’s event where he received the Vanguard Award for his performance in The Burial. In an emotional speech, he shared his journey of overcoming the health challenge and thanked everyone for their support.

‘You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago,’ he said after walking across the stage. ‘I couldn’t actually walk.’
‘I want to thank everybody. I’ve been through something, I’ve been through some things,’ he continued.
‘I cherish every single minute now — it’s different. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over … when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel — I didn’t see the light.
‘It was hot in that tunnel too, I don’t know where I was going. ‘S**t, am I going to the right place?’”
Jamie initially returned to Instagram after the scare on May 3 to thank his followers with a text post.
‘Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,’ he wrote at the time.
