Jamie Foxx breaks down in tears over death of Keith Jefferson
The great actor Keith Jefferson, who was best known for his parts in legendary movies by Quentin Tarantino like Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has died at the age of 53.
Jamie Foxx, a close friend and fellow actor of Jefferson, broke the sad news in an emotional Instagram post.
“Keith, you’ve been nothing but absolute grace, your whole life your heart is pure your love is immeasurable you were an amazing soul,” Foxx wrote alongside an image of him and Jefferson. “We will all miss you dearly. It’s gonna take a long time for this to heal. Goodbye, my friend. I love you.”
Jefferson courageously disclosed that he had been battling cancer back in August. He was born in Houston on April 7, 1970, and has since followed his passion for the arts by obtaining an MFA in acting from the University of Arizona and a BFA in musical theater from U.S. International in San Diego.

He co-starred in the 2012 film Django Unchained with Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, and Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Pudgy Ralph. He continued to work with Tarantino, as Keith the Land Pirate in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Charly in The Hateful Eight. He also appeared in Foxx’s 2022 movie Day Shift.
On his Instagram account just last month, the actor eagerly uploaded a trailer for his forthcoming movie, The Burial, which opens in some theaters this Friday.
