Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she’s been separated from Will for 7 years
Jada Pinkett Smith made the shocking revelation that she and her husband, Will Smith, have been secretly living separately for the past seven years. Having exchanged vows in 1997, the couple is presently reflecting on their marriage’s future course.
In a personal interview with People magazine, the 52-year-old actress provided this unexpected relationship update. She will also go into more detail about their trip in a future interview with NBC News, which will air later today.
Jada revealed in an interview with People that she and Will, 55, started living apart in 2016. Notably, they were already lived in separate locations in 2022 when the Oscars event took place. Will objected to a joke about Jada’s haircut during this event, which led to an unplanned on-stage run-in with comedian Chris Rock.

Jada highlighted that final choices on the course of their union were still pending. She said that she and Will are still figuring out the best course of action.
‘We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,’ she said. ‘We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like.’
Jada took a minute to thank her kids – Jaden, 25, Willow, 22, and Trey, 30, Will’s ex-boyfriend’s son – for their steadfast support during this trying time in her relationship.
‘My children, they’re little gurus. They’ve taught me a deep sense of self-acceptance,’ she said. ‘They love every part of me. The level of love, unconditional love that they have for me and their dad.
‘And it’s one thing to want to be the person that gives that unconditional love. And then there’s, to be the recipient of that.’
Many people may be shocked to learn about Will and Jada’s split, especially in light of the fact that they have continued to refer to each other in public as husband and wife for the past seven years.
