Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she wanted to commit suicide.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s life has been difficult from the beginning due to her extensive pain and early responsibility for her family. Jaden and Willow Smith are her two children, and she wed Will Smith in 1997.
Jada has revealed that despite her success, she has battled with severe depression and has even considered suicide.
Following Will Smith’s 2022 Oscars slap of Chris Rock, the well-known Smith couple became the talk of the town. But prior to that, Jada Smith dealt with her own issues, disclosing her deep depression and even suicidal thoughts.
The 52-year-old actress opened up about her battle with depression in a People interview.
“When I turned 40, I was in so much pain. I couldn’t figure a way out besides death. So I made a plan,”

“But, while I was really living the dream, I hit a huge wall — a massive amount of depression. I think that I looked at having outside sources to supplement for the voids that I was feeling inside.”
Jada constantly heard voices that made her want to give up on life.
“Just kill yourself. You’re not worth anything, you ain’t sh*t,” she continued. She started looking for places, “cliffs where I could have an accident, because I didn’t want my kids to think that their mother had committed suicide,” she added.
After learning about the medical psychedelic drug known as ayahuasca from her son Jaden Smith’s friend, Jada’s journey toward healing took an interesting turn. After witnessing the beneficial effects it had on their father at a ceremony, Jada became intrigued and made the decision to give it a shot.
Ayahuasca helped me, it gave me a new intimate relationship with myself that I had never had before. The suicidal thoughts completely went away,”
