Jada Pinkett Smith Explains Why August Alsina Is Not Mentioned in Her Memoir ‘Worthy’
Jada Pinkett Smith explained why she didn’t include August Alsina in her New York Times Best Seller memoir “Worthy” during an interview on “The Breakfast Club” on November 16.
The two had a close relationship, which was revealed in 2019 when Alsina went viral for revealing their “entanglement.” Alsina was 22 years old at the time, and Pinkett Smith was reportedly divorced from her husband, actor Will Smith.
When asked by host Charlamagne tha God why Alsina wasn’t in her book, Pinkett Smith simply stated that the singer had already been through a lot. She previously admitted on her Facebook show, “Red Table Talk,” to having an affair with Alsina during her separation from Smith.
“Really just to… I felt like he’s been through enough,” she said. “You know what I mean? And I just wanted to be respectful in that manner. I really did.”
Charlamagne inquired if addressing that situation was essential for healing, and Jada responded, “I’m definitely hoping at some point, for sure.”
The 52-year-old confirmed that the couple is considering legal action against Brother Bilal, who claimed he witnessed Will Smith having sex with actor Duane Martin.
The claim was made during an interview with tabloid blogger Tasha K, but Smith’s representative promptly denied it, calling the story “completely fabricated.”

Jada Pinkett Smith dismissed the story as “ridiculous” and mentioned that Bilal had previously attempted to extort money from the couple. She asserted they would take legal action because making up false stories is “actionable.”
Pinkett Smith explained that Bilal, who had worked on a book with Will, felt inadequately compensated and had rejected a certain amount offered by Smith. Despite the situation, Pinkett Smith mentioned that her husband always finds the humor in things, and they both laughed about the claim.
