Jackie Burns Joins Titanique as Céline Dion

Jackie Burns, who is best known for playing Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked, will start playing the lead in the off-Broadway production of Titanique at the Daryl Roth Theatre on July 18.

Nicole Parker is now filling the role that was originally played by Marla Mindelle, one of the co-creators of the show, and will do so through July 16. Burns is anticipated to bring her remarkable vocal abilities to the play as a result of the casting move, preparing herself to take Céline Dion’s place on the off-Broadway stage.

Jackie Burns will join an impressive group that already includes Brandon Contreras as Cal, Michael Williams as Jack, Anthony Murphy as Victor Garber, and Lindsay Heather Pearce as Rose. Avionce Hoyles plays the Iceberg, Anne Fraser Thomas plays the Unsinkable Molly Brown, and Russell Daniels plays Ruth to complete the cast.

Nya, Courtney Bassett, Brad Greer, Dimitri Moise, Kristina Walz, and Dimitri Moise complete the acting cast. Furthermore, Cayleigh Capaldi will join as a backup vocalist on July 11 and Marcus Antonio will take on the job of the Iceberg.

A full live band is featured in the production to support the cast’s outstanding performances. Titanique is a collaborative work, with Tye Blue directing and Ellenore Scott choreographing. Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle, and Constantine Rousouli wrote the script.

The production features some striking design elements, such as the scenic design by Iron Bloom Creative Production’s Gabriel Hainer Evansohn and Grace Lauchbacher, the costumes by Alejo Vietti, the lighting by Paige Seber, the sound by Lawrence Schober, the wigs by Tommy Kurzman, and the unique props by Eric Reynolds.
