Gypsy Rose Blanchard will receive an early release from prison after suffering years of maltreatment at the hands of a mother who made up a number of ailments.

Experts testified at the trial that Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s mother had a mental disease that drove her to make up a variety of ailments for her daughter.
These exaggerated diagnoses included leukemia, muscular dystrophy, and congenital defects such as brain damage.
Surprisingly, she forced her child to use a wheelchair when it wasn’t necessary, shaved her head to simulate the side effects of chemotherapy, and gave her child drugs that caused severe teeth decay.
She took use of the circumstance throughout to amass gifts and contributions from charities like the Make-A-Wish Foundation and other groups intended for children with actual illnesses.
Her daughter admitted to planning the murder with her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, after Dee Dee Blanchard’s fatal stabbing was discovered in her Springfield, Missouri, home.
She hid somewhere inside the home as he performed the act. While Godejohn was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury, Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Without the possibility of parole, he was given a life term in prison.
