Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer found guilty of killing George Floyd, suffered injury while incarcerated on Friday, November 24, at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona.

It is reported that another prisoner stabbed Chauvin. Following the incident, there was a stir on the internet, with some people defending Chauvin.

According to an unnamed source not allowed to talk about the incident publicly, Chauvin was seriously hurt by another inmate at a federal prison dealing with security problems and staff shortages.

While they didn’t reveal the inmate’s identity, the Federal Bureau of Prisons verified that a stabbing occurred at the Tucson prison, assuring that neither inmates nor prison staff were injured.

Workers said in a statement that they maintained control over the situation, intervened to save the inmate’s life, and transported the unnamed prisoner to the hospital for additional treatment and assessment.

Visitation at the facility housing about 380 inmates was suspended after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was notified, according to AP News, which also stated that there were no injuries among the staff.

In response to the news, someone shared a screenshot on X, commenting above it, “Thanks to the Supreme Court for not reviewing his case. Derek Chauvin is a political prisoner who just got stabbed in prison. He didn’t deserve all of this.”

“I saw that Derek Chauvin got stabbed to death in prison. The guy was innocent and the Supreme Court failed an American citizen. George Floyd was a drug-addicted thug that died from an overdose. This guy they convicted was innocent as heck. Sad day in America,” another supporter Said,
