Former NFL Cornerback D.J. Hayden Dies In Horrific Crash In Houston
Former NFL cornerback D.J. Hayden died in a car accident in Houston, according to the University of Houston. Hayden, Ralph Oragwu, and Zach McMillian were three former University of Houston football players who were among the victims.
Although the victims’ names were not disclosed during the briefing, the Houston Police Department stated that five of the victims were men and one was a woman named Megan Howard.
After receiving 911 calls, Houston police were notified of a serious vehicle collision involving a black Chrysler 300 and a black Acura SUV at around two in the morning local time. The driver of one of the cars died there after speeding and running a red light.

At the crash site, four individuals, including a homeless man, lost their lives, while four others were rushed to nearby hospitals. According to Howard, Assistant Chief of the Houston Police Department, one female patient had “life-threatening injuries,” and two of the hospitalized people later died.
Authorities are currently looking into a male patient at the hospital. The 33-year-old D.J. Hayden played for the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington Commanders during his NFL career.
Before entering the NFL, he was a standout defensive back at the University of Houston in 2011 and 2012. The Cougars had 32-year-old Zach McMillian as a player from 2010 to 2013.
