Damian Lillard files for divorce from Kay’La Lillard
Damian Lillard, an NBA player, and his wife Kay’La have decided to divorce. Just days after being traded from the Trail Blazers to the Bucks, the seven-time NBA All-Star filed for divorce from his college sweetheart on October 2, according to the Portland-based Willamette Week.
According to the filing, the couple’s marriage was dissolved due to “irreconcilable differences” because those differences caused an irreparable breakdown in their relationship.
According to People magazine, the pair, who got married in September 2021, has three kids: twins Kalii and Kali, age 2, and son Damian Jr., age 5.
Kay’La and Lillard met for the first time at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. The 33-year-old point guard discussed how she was essential to take care of him in an interview with Ebony in 2021.
