Comedian Ms. Pat has bravely shared her harrowing experiences of becoming a mother at just 14 and 15 years old to a much older man.
Speaking about her past, Ms. Pat revealed: “The man, who was rarely around, only visited me for intercourse during my pregnancy… No one in my community had raised objections to the age difference.”
Ms. Pat, who is now a successful comedian and TV personality, detailed the extreme poverty she faced as a young mother, saying: “My sister, also a young mother, and I often had to use T-shirts instead of diapers for our babies.”
Despite the hardships, Ms. Pat has vowed to protect her children from the trauma she experienced, saying: “I made a promise to my children that they would not endure the same hardships… I emphasized education and protection.”
Ms. Pat’s story is a testament to her resilience and determination. She is now the star of “The Ms. Pat Show” on BET+ and has a new standup tour, “Hot and Flashy,” with tickets available on www.MsPatComedy.com.
