Aubrey O'Day Supports Cassie Publicly Amid Diddy Allegations

Aubrey O’Day, a former member of Danity Kane, expressed support for Cassie on Instagram after news broke of her lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, saying, “Been trynna tell y’all for years. Prayers up for this queen.”

O’Day has spoken multiple times about Diddy’s difficult management of the group, including instances of perfectionism, body critiques, and experiencing racism and sexism during rehearsals.

“Puff is a very difficult person to work with. Everything had to be perfect. I remember times where he looked at my toenails and was like, ‘What is your third toenail doing? Go get that sh*t fixed before you walk into a room.’ Or we would be in rehearsals performing an hour-and-a-half set over and over and he would walk in for five minutes with a camera and say, ‘Aubrey, why are you sweating? You look like a wet dog. You’re the hot one, so do you think anyone wants to see that?’ … I experienced everything from race [remarks] to sexism and a lot of it was scary.”

Aubrey O’Day expressed her hopes for Diddy’s development while acknowledging that there are still problems with sexism in the music business that go beyond him.

Additionally, she asserted that Diddy’s recent decision to give up former artists’ publishing rights made them sign nondisclosure agreements, which prevented them from being publicly critical of him or associated companies. The NYPD is also looking into Diddy; however, it’s unclear if this has anything to do with the lawsuit.
