Actor Obi Ndefo, Best Known for ‘Dawson’s Creek’, Dies at 51

Obi Ndefo, the actor who played Bodie Wells on the popular TV show ‘Dawson’s Creek’, has passed away at the age of 51, his sister announced on Facebook.

Nkem Ndefo shared the tragic news on Saturday, saying: “I’m heartbroken to share that my younger brother Obi has passed away. I hope he’s finally found peace.”

Obi Ndefo started acting in the 1990s with small parts on TV shows. He appeared in episodes of “Star Trek: Voyager”, “3rd Rock From the Sun”, and “Angel”. Later, he played the role of Bodie Wells on “Dawson’s Creek” for 10 episodes, where his character dated Bessie Potter, played by Nina Repeta.

Mary-Margaret Humes, who played Ndefo’s on-screen mother, paid tribute to him, saying: “He was a bright, shining light in spite of all the adversity he faced.”

Ndefo faced significant challenges in his life, including the loss of both legs in a 2019 accident. He used his experiences to help others, creating a podcast about overcoming major trauma.

No cause of death has been shared.
