Tito Jackson, Michael’s Brother and Jackson 5 Founder, Dies at 70

Tito Jackson, a founding member of the iconic Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 70. The news was confirmed by Steve Manning, a longtime friend and associate of the Jackson family.

According to Manning, Tito suffered a heart attack while driving on a road trip, although the official cause of death is still undetermined.

Tito’s nephew, Siggy Jackson, also confirmed the news to People magazine.

Tito is survived by his three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ, who formed the group 3T with their father as their manager.

The Jackson 5, later known as the Jacksons, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Tito’s death comes 14 years after his brother Michael‘s passing in 2009.

The Jackson family gathered at Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Glendale, California, on Monday to bid farewell to Tito Jackson, the founding member of the legendary Jackson 5, more than a month after his passing. Tito was laid to rest at the same cemetery where his brother, Michael Jackson, was entombed following his death in 2009 at age 50. Family members, including siblings and nieces and nephews, attended the ceremony to pay their respects to the talented guitarist and singer, celebrating his life and legacy as a music icon.
