Ian McKellen says late Queen Elizabeth II was ‘quite rude’ and Prince Harry is ‘not bright enough’ to survive pressure of royal life

Sir Ian McKellen has revealed his encounters with the late Queen Elizabeth II, describing her as “quite rude” during their meetings.

The 85-year-old actor told The Times of London: “On the few occasions I met her, she was quite rude. I think she was quite mad at the end.”

McKellen recalled receiving a medal for acting from the Queen, who said: “You’ve been doing this for an awfully long time.” He replied: “Well, not as long as you.”

The Queen then asked: “Does anyone still actually go to the theatre?” McKellen found this “bloody rude”, interpreting it as: “Does anyone care a f*** about you because I don’t. Now off you go!”

McKellen demonstrated the Queen’s handshake, describing it as a shove, saying: “That was her handshake, and it meant, ‘Go! Go!'”

PRINCE HARRY ‘NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH’ FOR ROYAL LIFE

McKellen also expressed support for Prince Harry, saying: “I’m most definitely on Harry’s side.”

However, he added: “He’s probably not bright enough or doesn’t have the right friends to really help himself. Hats off to anyone who manages to stay sane in that world.”

McKellen made these comments during an interview with The Times of London, where he discussed his encounters with the royal family and his support for Prince Harry.
