Nia Long’s old interview just resurfaced and it’s got everyone talking! The actress copped to dating a 30-year-old man while she was still in high school… and her mom was totally cool with it!
Nia said, “I wasn’t the girl that ever went to prom. Like, my boyfriend was 30 when I was in high school.” She gave props to her “artist” mom for letting her date older dudes to “find herself.”
“My mother was crazy…I mean that in a good way. Like, she was an artist. She was like, ‘Well, if that’s who you love, baby,'” Nia recalled.
But here’s the kicker – Nia’s ex asked her mom for permission to date the then-17-year-old! Nia raved, “He was so good to me and kind… He did it the right way.” And the kicker? He told her mom, “I love your daughter, and I want to date her”
Oh, and Nia’s ex owned a hair salon, which taught her a valuable skill: “But you know what he taught me? He taught me how to do my own hair and makeup, so I got that!”
But Instagram users are ROASTING Nia’s mom for letting this happen! “Yes nope 30 year old coming to me saying he loves my daughter in high school? i’m callin 911,” one user wrote. Another added, “That man needs to explain what he saw in common with a 17 year old girl as a 30 yr old man”
