Actor Lee Sun-kyun of South Korea, well known for his role in “Parasite,” committed suicide in the midst of an inquiry into illicit drug use. Authorities believe his death to be a suicide because his body was discovered in his automobile in Seoul.
Incheon police questioned Lee Sun-kyun three times during the criminal investigation into his suspected drug use. Although he acknowledged using drugs, he claimed to have been tricked and threatened with violence, which prompted him to sue the extortionist. According to CNN, despite the inquiry involving several drug tests, the findings were always negative.

On December 23, Lee Sun-kyun was last questioned, held for 19 hours, and then released. In relation to the drugs investigation, two people were taken into custody.
Through his lawyer, Lee asked for a lie detector test the day before he passed away, as did the arrested individuals. It’s not known if a polygraph test was administered, though.
The comedy-thriller “Parasite,” in which Lee Sun-kyun starred as Park Dong-ik, ended his life at the age of 48. Four Oscars, including Best Picture, were awarded by the movie at the 2020 Academy Awards.
