On December 5, Jonathan Majors’ assault trial got underway. Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend, claimed that the actor from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania had hit her during a fight, and she revealed that this was not the first time the two had ever been physically aggressive.

With tears in her eyes, Jabbari described how Majors had turned erratic and domineering, frequently threatening to take his own life following their disagreements.

After being taken into custody on March 25, Jonathan Majors is being charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, and harassment. He has entered a not guilty plea and, should he be found guilty, could spend up to a year in jail.

Jonathan Majors called himself a “great man” and urged Grace Jabbari to act like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama in an audio recording that was played during the trial in September 2022. Claiming to do great things for his culture and the world, he emphasized that the woman he supports must be exceptional.

Jonathan Majors and Grace Jabbari were heading home from a party when Jonathan received a text from a different woman. This was the incident that precipitated their breakup. Jonathan allegedly hit Grace hard across the head while he pulled and twisted her arm to get the phone when she tried to read the message.

Jonathan insists that Grace attacked him, refuting this account of what happened. Jonathan Majors sat at the defense table in the New York City Criminal Court with his current girlfriend Meagan Good, holding a Bible, during Grace Jabbari’s long testimony.

Over the course of their two-year relationship, Grace and Jonathan had several arguments. In her testimony, Grace said she observed changes in Jonathan’s behavior toward her, describing an instance in which he became agitated when she brought up the pet of a previous boyfriend.

She had never felt afraid before, and because of this encounter, she vowed never to talk about her previous relationships again. Grace loved him and kept the relationship going even though she felt scared and reliant on him.

“It was the first time I felt scared of him,” she said. “I knew to never mention my ex again or anyone I had dated before.”

Grace said, “I felt very isolated. It was confusing. I felt scared of him but quite dependent on him.” Their relationship continued because “I loved him”.
