UK University to Introduce Masters Degree Program in Magic
In 2024, the University of Exeter will launch a ground-breaking curriculum that will grant a Masters in Magic and Occult Science. According to the course director, a growing interest in magic led to the creation of this one-year course.
Students will get the opportunity to explore the historical and sociological significance of witchcraft and magic in both Western and Eastern cultures through the course material. According to the BBC, this all-encompassing strategy will include an analysis of their impact on society and science.
The course, which is being held on the Streatham Campus, will be taught by eminent academics from a variety of fields, including history, literature, philosophy, archaeology, sociology, psychology, drama, and religion. The University of Exeter emphasizes how exceptional this MA program is.
Professor Emily Selove, the course’s leader, emphasizes, “The recent surge of interest in magic and the occult, both within and beyond academia, addresses some of our society’s most pressing questions.”

The Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies will offer the program.
This program is designed to prepare students for a variety of career pathways, including teaching, mentoring, jobs in heritage preservation and museums, employment in libraries, and chances in the tourism industry.
Intriguing topics covered by a few of the modules include the representation of dragons in Western literature and art, the persistent King Arthur legend, the study of palaeography, and an investigation of the portrayal of women in the Middle Ages.
