NBA suspends Joshua Primo for exposing himself to women
Joshua Primo, a former San Antonio Spurs player, received a four-game suspension without pay from the NBA as a result of an inquiry into claims of inappropriate behavior with women. In a formal statement released on Friday, the league made this declaration.
Primo, a 20-year-old player, was let go by the San Antonio Spurs last October following claims made by Hillary Cauthen, a former psychologist who worked for the organization. Primo, according to Cauthen, exposed himself to other ladies and acted improperly during their one-on-one meetings.
Cauthen responded by filing a lawsuit in November against the Spurs, claiming that her objections against Primo’s conduct had been disregarded. Later that same month, both parties finally came to a legal agreement.
The NBA made it clear that Primo’s ban was due to behavior that was bad for the league. The investigation revealed that Primo, a 2021 lottery choice, had exposed himself to women in a way that was rude and indecent.
The league’s investigation did not turn up any proof of sexual or other misbehavior, except from these isolated events, despite Primo’s claim that his acts were inadvertent. However, the NBA concluded that Primo’s actions go beyond the bounds of the league’s rules and call for disciplinary action.

In January 2022, Cauthen reportedly informed the Spurs that Primo had exposed himself to her during a one-on-one meeting. This information is contained in her legal documentation.
According to the lawsuit, she had discussions about this matter with the Spurs’ legal counsel in May 2022 after initially meeting with general manager Brian Wright in March 2022. Primo remained a productive team member despite these discussions because no action was done.
When Cauthen’s contract was up in August 2022, the Spurs decided against renewing it. Cauthen further argued that Primo was allegedly exposed to others on at least two different times.
