Céline Dion Cancels World Tour Amid Health Battle
Céline Dion expressed deep regret as she informed her fans on Friday that she had to make the difficult decision of officially canceling the remaining shows of her Courage World Tour. This announcement comes after she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder last year.
The renowned singer, aged 55, shared a heartfelt message with her fans on social media, revealing that despite initially postponing the shows, her health condition necessitated the cancellation of the entire tour.
I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again,” “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.” She added, “I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!” Dion wrote in a message shared by her team on Instagram.
Céline Dion diagnosis of Stiff-Person Syndrome
In December 2022, Céline Dion posted an emotional video on Instagram, disclosing her recent diagnosis of Stiff-Person Syndrome. She tearfully expressed that she would not be able to commence her European tour as planned in February, as the disorder caused muscle spasms that impaired her ability to sing in her usual manner. Stiff-Person Syndrome commonly leads to stiffness in the muscles of the torso, arms, and legs, with spasms triggered by noise or emotional distress.

The cancellation of the tour will impact the scheduled performances across 16 countries in Europe. The tour was originally set to begin in Amsterdam in August and conclude with two shows at the O2 arena in London in April of the following year. Those who purchased tickets for the now-cancelled dates will receive refunds through their original point of sale, according to information provided on her website.
Céline Dion’s “Courage World Tour” commenced in 2019 and successfully completed 52 shows before the Covid-19 pandemic necessitated a pause. Subsequently, she had to cancel the North American leg of the tour due to her health challenges. The European dates were anticipated to be her first global concert tour in a decade and marked her first tour without her late husband-manager, René Angélil, who passed away from cancer in 2016.
