32-Year-Old Woman Sentenced to Life for Murdering Stepfather After forcing him to confess to abusing her when she was six

Surie Suksiri was sentenced to life in prison for murdering her stepfather, Frank McKeever, after coercing him into confessing to sexually abusing her as a child at her Highbury, north London, home. Suksiri, 32, humiliated McKeever and recorded a confession in which he admitted to assaulting her when she was six years old and stated that he deserved punishment.

McKeever went missing after the encounter on August 28, 2021, and his body was discovered during the subsequent investigation. Suksiri’s actions were interpreted as retaliation for alleged childhood abuse.

Suksiri and her ex-boyfriend, Juned Sheikh, were sentenced to life in prison for murdering and concealing her stepfather, Frank McKeever. McKeever died in a painful and protracted manner, according to the Old Bailey, before being dumped in a remote location.

Suksiri will serve at least 18 years, while Sheikh, who has a record of 16 previous convictions, will serve at least 24 years. According to the judge, McKeever went to see the defendants willingly, expecting respect, but the situation became sinister in the residential setting.

Following the murder, the defendants engaged in a pattern of deception, lying about what happened and concealing the body.

The judge described the crime as a ‘serious affront to public standards of decency,’ preventing the family from giving their late relative, Mr. McKeever, a proper farewell. Dominic McKeever, the victim’s older brother, expressed that the trial was both lengthy and harrowing, highlighting the family’s denial of the opportunity to bid a loving farewell to the ‘happy-go-lucky’ Mr. McKeever.

In his court statement, the victim’s brother conveyed, ‘In the summer of 2021, Frank was entering a positive chapter, making plans for a new house, exploring London with his freedom pass, and reconnecting with us, his siblings.’ T

he family found some relief in the police confirming no evidence of abuse against Mr. McKeever, but the circumstances surrounding his death added further pain and ‘indignity,’ making it feel as if he was ‘on trial’ at times.
